Simon Griggs

Leading the charge at Navigator is Simon Griggs, our Managing Partner. ‍

After many years working in a Chartered Accounting firm, Simon successfully managed two international fashion labels (he’s still got the suede to prove it) before returning to what he knows best – accounting.

Thing is, Simon was sick of seeing all the same old accounting firms out there doing the same old thing – and he saw that clients were too. So he thought, stuff it, and started out on his own. Simon created Navigator to fill a much-needed gap in the market for an accounting service provider that was agile, people-focused, and proactively worked with clients to realise their goals.

A down-to-earth, Hawke’s Bay-born kiwi, Simon prides himself on helping his clients achieve their financial goals and offering them practical advice using plain English. ‍

Now based in Spain, he brings boldness, creativity and vision to everything we do here at Navigator.

our values

As a proudly independent Kiwi company – now with people in both New Zealand and Spain, we're all about connecting more closely to the indigenous culture of the place we call home: the language, principles and values that are intrinsic to Aotearoa New Zealand's unique identity.

That's why we are on a journey to adopt and improve our everyday te reo Māori, as well as te ao Māori perspectives.

Embracing concepts that parallel our approach, weaving them into who we are and how we work — wherever in the world we're working from. We've got a long way to go yet – but here's how we're getting started.

Manaakitanga

+

Manaakitanga is the concept of hospitality, kindness, generosity, support – the process of showing respect, generosity and care for others. It is reciprocal – by lifting others up you are in turn lifted up yourself.

We look after all our customers with care and respect, guiding and giving them what they need to maintain and grow their business.

And at the end of the day, when we care for our customers and help them succeed, we succeed ourselves.

Tohungatanga

+

Tohungatanga is the concept of expertise, knowledge and understanding.

We pride ourselves on understanding both our profession and our customers. Not just on being the experts, but on sharing that expertise in ways that really help people.

We are also focused on continually growing and expanding our knowledge and tools in order to do more and create better outcomes for our customers.

Whanaungatanga

+

Whanaungatanga is the concept of creating authentic connections and building relationships through shared experiences (such as working together).

We take the time to get to know our customers, to connect and to care at a personal level. This enables us to truly understand you and your business, and as a result to provide the support you really need.
